De Eindhovense rockband LEFT timmert behoorlijk hard aan de weg. Niet geheel naar de zin van de Amsterdamse (spoorweg-) politie, want afgelopen weekend werd de band op kordate wijze Amsterdam CS 'uitgetimmerd', bij de opnamen van hun nieuwe videoclip voor de single 'It's The Incredible Greyman'.
Zanger/gitarist Ruud van Deventer zit nog enigszins beduust in zijn koffie te roeren in het Effenaar café: "We wilden graag een clip opnemen waar het publiek onverwacht deel zou uitmaken van de clip en hebben daarvoor in Amsterdam gefilmd, onder andere op de Dam, in een volle Albert Heijn en ook op Centraal Station. De reacties waren zeer positief en het publiek vond het erg leuk, maar op Amsterdam Centraal Station ging het plotseling mis. We hadden net de muziek aangezet, toen uit alle hoeken en gaten ineens het 'blauw' kwam opduiken. Politie, spoorwegpolitie, beveiliging en stadswachten, wel een man of 15, doken bovenop de band en crew en maakten een bruut einde aan de opnamen."
De wapenstok kwam er nog net niet aan te pas, maar de band was wel erg verrast door de hoeveelheid dienders die op 'het gevaar' afkwamen: "Ik wist niet dat er zoveel politie op een station rond liep, en dat het opnemen van enkele shots voor een videoclip als een potentieel landsgevaar wordt gezien." De tapes van de opnamen op het Centraal Station zijn in beslag genomen, maar een klein stukje zal toch nog in de clip te zien zijn. Een derde camera was namelijk niet direct opgemerkt en heeft nog enkele seconden van 'de overval' kunnen filmen. De videoclip is vanaf vandaag te zien op YouTube en op de website van de band: www.whatisleft.nl. Inmiddels is LEFT met deze single uitgeroepen tot 3FM Serious Talent.
