BIOGRAPHY:
Mummy’s a tree has started its second youth. The
tree is standing firmly again and the leaves
rustle like never before. After the split in
2001 songwriter Stefan van den Berg
(vocals/guitar) operated a few years out of the
wind en performed different music styles (among
other things Dutch-language music from the
fifties). Herewith a fresh wind blew through his
head. New life was breathed into Mummy’s a tree.
At the end of 2005, together with Frank Antonie
(drums/percussion/vocals), he recorded
Loftmusic for millions yet unaware,
produced by Frans Haarmeijer (Machinepraat). A
warm, melodic album full of autumnal repertoire.
The record got lauditive reviews and brought the
band to the stages of The Locals only latenight
presentation (Paradiso) and Music hall (VPRO).
Mummy’s a tree played as support act for
De Dijk
and dEUS, participated on the
Characters CD (Unsigned Project) of the
Nationaal Pop Instituut
(with
Kirsten
and
Racoon)
and was finalist at
De
Grote prijs van Nederland.
