BIOGRAPHY:
The May Bees have quickly established themselves
as one of the Netherlands' most undeniable and
promising new alternative rock bands.
After the start late 2004 the band released
two remarkable mini albums,
got
excellent reviews,
a lot of airplay, ended up high in various
charts and played
gigs nationwide
(including supports for Frank Black, The Drones,
Air Traffic and Caesar). At the same time the
band toured successfully through the east coast
of the USA and Canada in the
autumn of 2006.
Who they are? Gregory Orange and Marzj (she also
played in Rude Boy's League of XO Gentlemen and
occasionally with Belgian bands K's Choice and
Venus in Flames) are two passionate Dutch
rockers with a shared love for pure and intense
rock songs.
And that’s what you definitely hear in their
music. You need a reference? "Netherlandian
Robert Pollard, Pixies, Dino Jr." (according to
Palebear), "Foo Fighters and Radiohead" (Kindamuzik),
"And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead" (Planettrash)
and all with "Grandaddy's spirit" (according to
Kinky Star).
